Lady Elinor Melville does not wish to be married off to the new Marquess of Winthrop. Disgusted by her parents' scheming, she goes for a reckless ride and tumbles into the arms of a very young man. Unaware that he is the Marquess, Elinor decides to masquerade as her sisters' governess--just as the Marquess assumes the identity of his brothers' tutor.
I fully agree with the Literary Times review on this book. The story - a conventional plot with intriguing twists - is very entertaining. The book is well written and absorbing enough, though the pace could perhaps have been improved by fewer pages.
