Action Research: Teachers as Researchers in the Classroom introduces practicing teachers to the process of conducting classroom-based action research. The practical nature of the book stems from the fact that it focuses on research methods and procedures that teachers can use in conjunction with their everyday instructional practices and activities in classrooms. An overview of traditional educational research is followed by detailed, practical information describing each step for teachers as they design and conduct their own applied, classroom-based research projects. Although based on the research literature, the book takes a very practical approach, never losing sight of its intended audience--practicing educators.
