Great, informative book!!

I thought this book was very helpful. Being self taught, these are some of the things I needed to know but hadn't learned, presented in an easily attainable way. Covered are, Color mixing, color theory, styles of painting, even how certain surfaces react to acrylic paint. Perfect for beginner to intermediate. I've gotten many other books on painting and this is my favorite.

Must read for all novice painters

As a novice acrylic painter, I found this book to be the best beginners guidebook. After reviewing many, many books on acrylic painting, this is the only book that had it all. Chapter 3 provides the fundamentals on color basics. Understanding how to mix colors is a principle foundation that many other books failed to address. The rest of the book delves into various painting techniques that are simple to follow and understand. I would've given it 5 stars if the book came spiral bound, making it easier to use while painting. Wonderful book to have in my acrylics reference library.
worth the purchase for newbies

i have never been an artist and don't have a lot of ability. i do; however, have the desire and the images in my head. this book really gave me the tool/skills/strategies necessary to get me going. i actually like the painting that i have completed. it looks better than i expected and i learned from the book to make it that way. as beginner as i am, i already feel i am past this book and ready for the next lesson. hmmm! i guess i'll buy something else.

I am just starting out in acrylics and this book has been a fabulous resource. All the important information is very clearly and succinctly presented. The book has many photos so you can easily see what they are talking about rather than having to trudge through a lot of words. Highly recommended!
