Marla Foster had learned what every career woman learns in a man's world, so she knew better than to get involved with a client. But how could she ignore the sexy sporting goods king who had just given her a multi-million dollar account--and an invitation into his arms?
This is a nice book, and I mean that in every sense of the word. It's purely a "relationship" novel. The two main characters meet and are immediately attracted to each other, and then spend the rest of the book working out the ramficiations of the relationship. He's getting over the death of his wife and becoming ready to establish a new relationship. She's working to make herself independent, so that she doesn't suffer the same fate as her helpless mother and sister, and fears becoming dependent on him. The book sizzles when they're together, and the story line is interesting enough to keep you reading, though of course you know how it's going to come out. This is the second of Leone's books for me (Black Sheep was the other), and I really enjoy the characters she creates -- likeable, a little troubled, sexy, and fun. Her male characters are especially engaging. Don't pick this book up if you're looking for a mystery or strong story line; what you'll get is an enjoyable few hours with some likeable people.
