A Hidden Magic

This Georgian Historical Romance was in turns witty, dramatic, and romantic. The hero-Griffin Tyrrell, has recently resigned his military commission and has purchased a huge estate, sight unseen, and at a much discounted price, which he is ecstatic about. Once arriving to the Sussex estate, he quickly learns why he got it so cheap. The estate is haunted by a 200 year old ghost-a Scottish Highlander named Alasdair who is stuck for all eternity at the manor. Griffin therefore goes in search of the scandalous old widow who sold him the estate, to force her to take it back or get rid of the ghost. That's when he sees that shes a young and beautiful widow instead. Cicely was forced by her neglectful husband for 6 years to live at the estate-alone without even servants as they were all run off upon seeing the ghost. A Hidden magic was a great story-fun, action packed and tender, with a hint of magic as well. It was nice that the hero and heroine were both good people who both needed and deserved a "happy ending". Lots of interesting secondary characters abound as well. I enjoyed that the story was set in Georgian times-an era underused in Romances. The bedroom scenes are very sensual-but realistic and not offensive to more delicate readers. To those who like a good Historical Romance with a bit of paranormal thrown in, then I highly recommend this book. 5 stars.
