My Favorite of all the Devon books!

We have to poor girl, who is friends with the rich scamp. Following her friend, who is housing her as her father has lost all their money...again..she manages to help annoy the wealthy brother. He's not perfect, but she can't resist him. He's pleased to find she isn't the ice queen he imagined, and also sees her as the compassionate loyal person she has always been. Just with a lot of pride. Men behave badly, but our hero is there to make sure no other man ever tries to seduce her, except himself. I admired that the men are definitely like men with women they feel they can control, and that the hero admires a good woman who has a very good heart.
